Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Kenneth Dixon has previous convictions for:
- Armed Robbery
- Weapons – Felony Firearms
Both of those convictions date back to May of 2009. However the records show that he was a parolee at the time that Starkisha Thompson was murdered. He was placed on parole as of May 16th, 2018.
Thompson was shot and killed in an ambush outside her home on Collingham near Cordell on Detroit’s east side on the morning of Oct. 9 shortly after dropping her teenage son off at school.
She was killed six days after testifying against Kenneth Dixon. Dixon was arrested in Harper Woods last month after he allegedly carjacked Starkisha and her boyfriend. Starkisha was a witness in that case. Detroit Police Chief James Craig says the suspects tried to buy Starkisha’s silence and she refused.
