FLINT, MI – A jury has convicted a 52-year-old Flint man of repeated sexual assaults of an underage girl over a period of time more than 15 years ago.Guilty Gavel

Tommy Louis Williams, 53-years-old, was charged and convicted of seven counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13 years of age. The assaults occurred between 2002 and 2003 and resulted in the victim becoming pregnant and giving birth.

“We are taking an aggressive approach to holding sexual assault offenders accountable for their
actions no matter how long ago the incidents may have occurred,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton after the jury returned with its verdict. “This case wouldn’t have been possible without the bravery shown by our victim who had to recount in a public courtroom the horrors she suffered as a
young girl,” he said.

Williams faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced on November 26th in Genesee County Circuit Court.
