Man Arrested for Thefts at Mecosta County Walmart and Lowes

BIG RAPIDS, MI – The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office recently investigated a pair of felony retail theft complaints in the Big Rapids Township Walmart and Lowes stores where several thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise was stolen.

From the investigation and tips from the public a suspect was developed, identified, located, arrested and arraigned in court.

Thomas James Beeney III, 35-yeras-old, of Comstock Park, was arraigned in 77th District Court on 10-24-18 where he was formally charged with two felony counts of 1st Degree Retail Fraud.  Beeney is being held in The Mecosta County Jail on $150,000 bond pending further court action.
