NEW CASTLE, PA – An arrest warrant was issued for Anthony “Mook” Cooper, 19-years-old, of Detroit, who is charged with eight felony counts, including criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, attempted homicide and carrying an unlicensed firearm in the shooting deaths of a 10-year-old girl, her mother and the mother’s male friend.

The charges were filed in a Lawrence County Court late Friday afternoon after Anthony Cooper was identified in an affidavit used on Thursday to charge another defendant in the case, 19-year-old Steven Procopio, who claims that Cooper fired the shots that killed 10-year-old Amariah Emery, her 31-year-old mother Nichole Pumphrey and 31-year-old Lawrence Cannon.

The three victims were found shot to death inside of Nichole Pumphrey’s West North Street home early Tuesday morning. Officers were sent to the home after a family member found the three dead inside. When the officers arrived they found the three victims dead on the first floor.

Four other children were also in the home but they were unharmed. They were interviewed by investigators before being released to relatives.

Steven Procopio was charged Thursday with seven counts of homicide and seven counts of felony firearm in the shooting deaths.

A 41-year-old woman was charged with obstructing justice in the case. Jody Lynn Hammer, 41-years-old, is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on a $50,000 bond after being arraigned on that charge.

She was taken into custody Wednesday at the home she shared with Steven Procopio. Procopio and Hammer admitted to detectives that they drove Anthony Cooper to a Greyhound bus station in Cleveland where they say he boarded a bus headed back to Detroit.

Anthony Cooper is described as a black male, 5’5 tall, approximately 135 lbs, 19 years old, a resident of Detroit.

Police say Cooper is believed to be armed and should be considered extremely dangerous.
