DEARBORN, MI – On Wednesday October 10th, 2018 a concerned family member contacted the Dearborn Police Department and asked them to check on her husband who had not come home from work. Dearborn officers then responded to the area of Grindley Park and Outer Dr where they made a forced entry into the husband’s place of business.Jasmine Moore

Once inside, they found the victim, a 75 year old psychiatrist going in and out of consciousness with evidence of a severe beating and stab wounds to both legs. He was immediately transported to a medical facility by Dearborn Fire Rescue.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office charged Emanuel Vaughn with Assault with Intent to Murder, Armed Robbery Causing Serious Injury, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder or by Strangulation and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

A second suspect has been charged. Jasmine Moore, 28-years-old, of Detroit, was charged with assault with intent to murder, armed robbery causing serious injury, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said Moore may have been a patient or acquaintance of the 75-year-old psychiatrist and this was not a random act.
