LYON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Saturday November 10th, 2018, at approximately 8:15PM, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were in the area of I-96 and Kent Lake Road when they observed a Metro Park Police Officer out of his patrol vehicle and a female lying across the roadway.
When the Deputies approached, they could hear the 45 year old Farmington Hills woman screaming “kill me now”. With assistance from responding Deputies, the Officer was able to get the female handcuffed.
Once the female was in custody, she began to kick at the Officer and the Deputies while being seated in the Metro Parks Officer’s patrol vehicle. Deputies assisted the Officer by accompanying him to the hospital while he completed the necessary paperwork for a psychiatric committal. The female continued to fight with the Officer and Deputies while hospital staff placed the subject in soft restraints. While the handcuffs were being removed and the female was being placed into a hospital bed, she kicked a Deputy twice. Hospital staff was then able to restrain the subject. The Deputy was not injured.
Criminal charges are being sought for Assault on a Police Officer.
