DETROIT, MI – One local lane will be opening soon on southbound I-75 from I-96 to Springwells Street and the Springwells Street ramp will also be reopening.
The overall I-75 Rouge River project includes;
– Replacing all the concrete on the Rouge River bridge – completed.
– Reconstructing the Goddard Road bridges – completed.
– Work on 11 Downriver bridges – expected to be complete by early December, depending on weather.
– Replacing concrete and sewer work between Clark Avenue and Springwells Street – expected to be finished by end of year or early 2019, depending on weather.
Westbound I-96 to southbound I-275, then southbound I-75. Backups are still expected when one local lane is reopened on southbound I-75 from I-96 to Springwells Street. The southbound I-75 service drive will have two lanes open to access the Springwells Street entrance ramp to southbound I-75. Also, drivers on M-85 (Fort Street) can access Springwells Street to re-enter southbound I-75. The Schaefer Highway ramp to southbound I-75 will also be reopened.
