Possible Homicide in Death of Warren Police Commissioner Son

DETROIT, MI – The death of Michael Dwyer, the son of Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer, is being investigated as a possible homicide.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner has yet to rule how Michael Dwyer died but Warren Mayor Jim Fouts has stated that the investigation is being looked at as a possible murder.

Dwyer’s body was discovered inside a vacant burned out house after a fire that took place on Bramell Street on October 26th, 2018. The body was not found for two and a half weeks after the fire. His body was discovered on Thursday November 15th, 2018.

A press release was sent out by the Warren Police Department on Friday November 16th, 2018, confirming that it was Michael Dwyer who was found in the burned out vacant house on Bramell. The family is asking for privacy at this time while they mourn the death of Michael. The press release went on to say that no further information will be released at this time.
