Wexford County CSC Investigation Leads to Man Already on Parole

CADILLAC, MI – The MSP Cadillac Post arrested 22 year old Mark Gainor, of Harrison, for 3 counts of CSC (Criminal Sexual Conduct). Gainor is already on the Michigan SOR (Sex Offender Registry). His new charges stem from allegations that were brought to authorities attention in July of 2017.MARK ALLEN GAINOR

In July of 2017 a teenage girl reported that Mark Gainor had sexually assaulted her when she was under the age of 10. The victim reported that the incident(s) had occurred in Boon Township several years earlier. The investigation revealed that Gainor was already in prison serving time for Home Invasion and unrelated CSC charges.

Upon completion of the investigation, the case was turned over to the Wexford County Prosecutors Office for review. Based on case facts and evidence, the prosecutor issued a two-count felony warrant on November 14th, 2018 charging Mark Gainor with one count of CSC 1st Degree and two counts  of CSC 2nd Degree.

The Michigan Department of Corrections was advised of the warrant and agreed to assist with the arrest. Gainor was paroled in August of 2018 to the Harrison area. He was arrested on November 19th, 2018 and lodged in the Wexford County Jail. He was arraigned in the 84th  District Court in Cadillac on November 20th. He was given a $10,000 bond.
