DETROIT, MI – A 30 year old man was shot and killed in the 5000 Block of Belvidere St on Detroit’s east side on Sunday November 25th, 2018.
Detroit Police said the shooting occurred at about 9:45PM when someone outside of a home on Belvidere fired multiple gunshots through the living room window, fatally shooting the 30 year old male victim.
The victim is being identified as Emmanuel Brown on social media.
MI Headlines was provided with information from a source close to the investigation that Emmanuel Brown’s murder was possibly a retaliation shooting for something that his brother may have done. Brown’s brother is currently serving time in prison.
It is believed that the gunman was trying to send a message concerning the alleged misdeed of Emmanuel Brown’s brother. Emmanuel was not thought to be the target of the incident but became a victim none the less.
Emmanuel Brown’s house was fired upon with what is believed to be an AK47. As the bullets began to fly, Emmanuel was trying to take cover to avoid being shot but he unfortunately was struck and killed.
