YPSILANTI, MI – Around 1:16PM today, Sunday, November 25th, 2018, Washtenaw Metro Dispatch received several calls of shots fired in the 8900 block of Macarthur Blvd. in Superior Township.
Multiple apartments were hit and at least one vehicle was struck, but to our knowledge there were no injuries.
As deputies arrived on scene, a potential suspect fled into a nearby apartment and has not come out. Deputies have evacuated nearby residents and at the moment the crisis negotiations team is attempting to make contact in an effort to talk the suspect out of the apartment.
As of 5:49PM, if you are in the area you will see a large police presence. Please remain in your homes unless law enforcement directs you to do otherwise. If you are not within the area they ask that you please stay away until further notice.
Details of the shooting are limited at this time, but it appears there were multiple shooters involved in a shootout and several homes that were occupied by innocent bystanders were hit. This is the 4th shooting in the area since Wednesday November 14th.

UPDATE: At 7:23PM the suspect who had barricaded himself in the 1200 block of Stamford surrendered without incident to Washtenaw Metro SWAT. Although you will still see a very large police presence, the area is secured.
