CUSTER, MI – At 7:37 AM on Sunday, November 25th, 2018, emergency crews responded to a report of a male subject lying in the road, unresponsive.
The investigation revealed that a 43 year-old Custer MI man was operating a 2018 Polaris ATV southbound on Stephens Road south of US10 when he struck a deer. The crash caused the victim to lose control of the vehicle, which rolled over, ejecting him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was not wearing a helmet and speed does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Life EMS and Custer FD assisted deputies at the scene.
