Dearborn Hts. Man Charged in August 2018 Drug Death in Fast Food Parking Lot

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI – Ryan Patrick Dwyer, 41-years-old, of Dearborn Heights, has been charged in connection with the August 26, 2018 narcotics overdose death of Ricky Cox, 24-years-old, of California.

On August 29,2018 the lifeless body of Ricky Cox was found in the passenger side of a car in the parking lot of a Taco Bell in the 4500 block of Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights. It is alleged that on August 26th, 2018, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Ryan Dwyer delivered a controlled substance to Cox causing his death, stole his personal property, and fled from the location. The investigation by the Dearborn Heights Police Department led to the arrest of Dwyer.

Ryan Dwyer has been charged with Delivering a Controlled Substance Causing Death, Involuntary Manslaughter, Larceny from a Person, and Illegal Use of a Financial Transaction Device.

He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in 22 District Court in Inkster.
