DETROIT, MI – To often Detroit Police are spoke of and looked at in not so positive of terms but they are there doing what we want and expect of them. Today, Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 they are letting the public know that three armed robbery suspects are off the streets because of their efforts.
Three male suspects were taken into custody in connection with an armed robbery incident that took place at a Project Green Light location on the city’s westside.
On November 24th, 2018, at approximately 11:05 p.m., in the 11000 block of Woodward, the 29-year old male victim was at the location when he came outside to speak with two males. The two suspects were sitting inside of a dark colored 2006 Dodge Durango along with another male individual.
While speaking with the individuals, Suspect 1, the front passenger, produced a silver and black handgun and demanded money from the victim, which he complied. After taking the money, the suspects fled in the vehicle westbound on Webb St.
Officers responded to the location and spoke with the victim, who provided them with a description of the suspects and vehicle. The information was broadcast over the air. Assisting officers canvassed the area and observed the vehicle and suspects parked at a gas station in the 11000 block of Hamilton Ave.
The suspects were arrested and conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center for processing. Two handguns were recovered and the vehicle was impounded.
A warrant package was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecuting Office and approved. The suspects were arraigned on November 27th, 2018 and charged with the following:

Suspect 1 – Jonathan Allen Jr., 23-years old, was charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and one count of Felony Firearm.
Suspect 2 – Dohntea Burris, 18-years old, was charged with one count of Armed Robbery.
Suspect 3 – Grandtez Burris, 20 years old, was charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and one count of Felony Firearm.
