RIGA TOWNSHIP, MI – MSP First District personnel are currently investigating a homicide in Lenawee County. This investigation is on-going with several detectives actively working the case.
The Michigan State Police Monroe Post are currently investigating a homicide in Lenawee County. The investigation started on December 3rd, 2018, at approximately 5:30PM, after troopers were dispatched to the report of a body off the roadway in a cornfield.
Upon arrival Troopers located a deceased black male who was approximately 30-35 years of age. Based on evidence located at the scene, it was confirmed that the man was the victim of a homicide.
The victim has been positively identified. His name will not be released until family members have been notified.
Additional MSP resources were dispatched to the scene to assist with the investigation. Those resources include K9, aviation and crime lab personnel.
An autopsy was performed on the victim on December 4th. The results of that are still pending.
