PONTIAC, MI – The investigation into how and where a 22-year-old man from Pontiac was shot remains under investigation because his accounting of the incident cannot be verified.shooting investigation

At approximately 10:00PM, on Thursday December 6th, 2018, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to McLaren-Oakland Hospital on the report of a shooting victim who was being treated in the Emergency Room. The victim had been shot three times by an unknown suspect.

The victim was conscious and was able to speak with the Deputies. The victim stated that he had been walking to the In and Out Party Store located at the corner of Cherrylawn Avenue and W. Kennett Rd, when he heard several gun shots and then noticed that he had been shot. An unknown subject had provided him with a ride to the hospital.

Deputies conducted an area check of Cherrylawn Avenue and W. Kennett Rd in the attempt to locate the scene of the shooting but were unsuccessful in finding any evidence of a shooting. Deputies also reviewed surveillance camera footage from the party store but did not find the victim present in any of it. The victim’s accounting of this event is questionable as none of the evidence supports his version of what occurred.

Detectives were notified and responded to the scene to continue with the investigation. The victim’s injuries were reported to be non-life threatening and is expected to recover. The incident remains under investigation.
