ALPENA, MI – A River Rouge woman who had been living in Alpena Township was arrested after she threatened her 14-year-old son with a hammer.
Kimberly Schultz, 48-years-old, of River Rouge, was arraigned Tuesday December 18th, 2018, on felonious assault and domestic violence charges after troopers found evidence she had threatened her son with a hammer. If convicted, Schultz faces up to 4 years in prison.
On October 11th, 2018, Troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post were called about a 14 year old boy who fled his mother’s house and went to a friend’s house.
Upon speaking with the 14-year-old boy, it was learned that his mother, Kimberly Schultz, allegedly assaulted the child and threatened him with a hammer.
Troopers went to the suspect’s house in Alpena Township and found additional evidence that supported the claim of the 14-year-old son.
Schultz had left the area, but was contacted by the MSP and turned herself in on December 7th, 2018.
Kimberly Schultz was arraigned on Tuesday and charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of domestic violence-second offense.
Schultz posted bond set at 10% of a $15,000 bond.
