A short time later, Deputies were notified by hospital staff that the subject had succumbed to his injuries. Deputies were able to view surveillance footage from the hospital security cameras that showed them that a gold or light beige colored GMC Yukon had dropped the victim off and left the parking lot.
Sheriff’s Detectives were notified and responded to the scene to continue with the investigation. Detectives began working to determine whether the two shootings were related. Through further investigation it was determined that the 30 year old shooting victim at the hospital shot the 21 year old armed robbery victim at the apartment in an apparent drug rip off for marijuana.
The 21 year old victim at the apartment, after he was shot, was able to shoot the suspect who was trying to rob him before he died. The suspect fled to a nearby area and was transported to the hospital by a person who found him collapsed and then drove him to the hospital in the GMC Yukon seen in the video. It does not appear that the driver is involved in the shooting.
Detectives are continuing with the investigation and autopsies are pending.
