Oakland County Sheriff Asks to Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

PONTIAC, MI – On Monday January 7th, 2019, at 8:00PM, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 7-Eleven Convenience Store located in the 1100 block of Baldwin Rd on the report of an Armed Robbery that had just occurred.

The victim, 48-year-old man, resident of the City of Warren, stated that the suspect walked into the store and placed some cigars on the counter. The suspect then stuck his hand in his coat pocket and announced that he had a gun. He demanded all of the money ($400) from the cash register. The victim gave the suspect the money from the cash register. The suspect fled on foot westbound from the store.

Earlier in the day, a business located in the 200 block of N. Telegraph Rd (Thrifty Florist) had also been robbed. The description of the suspect and his actions are very similar in both incidents. Detectives are attempting to determine whether or not the two incidents are related. Attached is a still photo from the 7-11 of the suspect.

An OCSO K-9 Unit responded to the scene. The K-9 conducted a track, but the track was terminated a short time later. The suspect was not located. Detectives will be continuing with the investigation.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a large black coat with similar physical description as the Thrifty Flowers RA.
