PETOSKEY, MI – Holley Hibbler, 37-years-old, of Petoskey, on November 29th, 2018, pled no contest to one count of reckless driving causing death of a 9-year-old boy. She was sentenced today in that case.
Holly Hibbler has been sentenced to 10-15 years in a state prison related to a traffic crash/death of a young child in August of 2018.
Sharon Myers and her son Samuel Myers were struck by Holley Hibblers vehicle on August 8th, 2019, as they walked their bikes along Maxwell Road in Emmet County’s Springvale Township. 9-year-old Samuel was taken to a local area hospital. He was then flown to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids where he later died as a result of the injuries. Sharon Myers was treated for minor injuries.
Hibbler’s plea came as a result of an agreement with prosecutors handling the case. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such during sentencing.
