HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Thursday January 17th, 2019, at approximately 5:45AM, Macomb County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the area of Cottrell and Jefferson Ave for a suspicious person report.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle as it pulled into a residential driveway in the area. Devin Cannon, 27-years-old, of Shelby Township, exited the driver’s door and entered the back yard of the residence. A second man, Kyle Rhodes, 22-years-old, of Clinton Township, was located lying down on the passenger seat of the vehicle.

The homeowner did not know the two men and was not expecting anyone. A flashlight, gloves, two handguns, a rifle magazine, a wallet, pill bottles, and credit cards/identification that did not belong to the suspects were located in the vehicle.

Several breaking and entering motor vehicle reports were taken in the area. Both firearms, the wallet containing a driver’s license and credit card, and the prescription medications had all been stolen out of various vehicles in the area within the last several hours.

A Macomb County Sheriff’s Office K-9 arrived on scene and located Devin Cannon several streets over. Cannon refused to obey deputies’ commands and resisted arrest. Both men were taken into custody and lodged at the Macomb County Jail.
