Search for Battery Throwing Thief in Detroit [Video]

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a larceny incident that occurred on the city’s west side.

On Tuesday January 22nd, 2019, at approximately 7:40AM, at a Project Green Light Detroit location in the 18000 block of Joy Rd, a witness reported seeing the suspect stealing car batteries from the location. At the time of the incident, the business was closed. The suspect was seen throwing the batteries over the fence, then jumping over the fence himself and fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as being a black male wearing a beige coat with a hood and dark pants.
