Facebook Post turns into Armed Robbery in Pontiac

PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies on January 23rd, 2019, at approximately 1:15PM, responded to the 100 block of N. Johnson concerning an Armed Robbery that had just occurred.armed robbery

The victims, a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, of Rochester Hills, stated they had arranged over Facebook Marketplace to meet a subject to purchase a vehicle. When the two and a 1-year-old child arrived at the location, they entered a vacant house where they were met by three suspects. Two of the suspects were armed with a handgun and long gun.

The suspects demanded the victim’s property, a tablet, cell phone and credit card, and money totaling $1702.00, before fleeing.

Deputies were able to identify the suspect who had arranged to meet with the victims. It was determined, his residence was directly next door to the vacant house. After being granted consent to search the residence, Deputies recovered a large amount of cash ($1662.00), the tablet and the credit card. Two subjects, a 35-year-old man, a 17-year-old man, both of Pontiac, were taken into custody. One suspect, 17-years-old, of Pontiac, remains at large but has been tentatively identified.

Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
