KNOX COUNTY, KY – Phillip Lee Lewis, 24-years-old, a convicted felon, was wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of Gary Medlin on January 16th, 2019.
Phillp Lewis allegedly entered the A & B Quick Stop in Gray, Kentucky, and brandished a firearm before shooting a customer, Gary Medlin, 25-years-old, while Gary was attempting to flee the apparent robbery.
On January 17, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, after Lewis was charged with murder and first degree robbery.
On January 23, 2019, a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Philip Lee Lewis was arrested in Flint yesterday around 3:50PM. He has family connections in Flint.
Michigan State Police, U.S. Marshals and the FBI worked together to capture him.
Lewis is awaiting extradition to Kentucky, where he faces federal and state charges for murder and first-degree robbery.
