HOLLAND, MI – Warrants for Juan Sandro Cabrera have been issued by the Ottawa County Prosecutors Office and signed by the 58th District Court for the 18-year-old suspect.
The charges are as follows: Open Murder, Felony Firearms, and Gang Membership Felony. Juan Cabrera is not in custody and the Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding his whereabouts at this time.
Juan Cabrera is being charged in the murder of 14-year-old Troy ‘TJ’ Wells.
Over the weekend an earlier named suspect, Claudio Estrada, turned himself in to the Hidalgo Police Department in Texas. Estrada had learned of his outstanding warrants from relatives in Michigan. Through investigation with Texas authorities and after an interview with Mr. Estrada, it is not believed that Estrada was in Michigan at the time of Troy Wells murder.
Detectives learned of misleading/false information from some witnesses that lead to identifying Claudio Estrada as the suspect. Estrada was released from custody in Texas after being held for a short time.
Juan Cabrera should be considered dangerous, the public should not approach and local law enforcement should be contacted to apprehend this suspect.
