HOLLAND, MI – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking the suspect Juan Sandro Cabrera , 18-years-old for the murder of 14-year-old Troy ‘TJ’ Wells.
Over the last week, detectives have interviewed approximately 3 dozen people in relationship to this murder investigation. With that several search warrants have been conducted to further this investigation and in an attempt to locate the suspect.
On Friday afternoon, with the assistance of the Holland Department of Public Safety, Juan Pablo Cabrera 34-years-old (AKA “John Paul”) was located near US31 and 32nd Ave in Holland City. John Paul is the father of the 18 year old homicide suspect. John Paul had outstanding warrants for a Parole Violation. The elder Cabrera was taken into custody without incident.
Warrants for Juan Sandro Cabrera have been issued by the Ottawa County Prosecutors Office and signed by the 58th District Court for the 18-year-old suspect.
At 12:04AM, Saturday February 16th, 2019, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and medics were sent to the Hampton Inn, located at 12427 Felch Street, in Holland Township, on a call of shots fired.
Upon arrival deputies found a 14 year old boy, Troy “TJ” Wells Jr., suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. TJ was transported to Holland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The charges are as follows: Open Murder, Felony Firearms, and Gang Membership Felony. Juan Cabrera is not in custody and the Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding his whereabouts at this time.
Juan Cabrera should be considered dangerous, the public should not approach and local law enforcement should be contacted to apprehend this suspect.
