Suspects Sought in Westside Fatal Shooting

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection to a homicide that occurred on the city’s westside.Homicide

On Friday, January 25th, 2019, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the victims were stopped at a stop sign inside of a white 1999 Mercedes C230 in the area of Ashton Ave and Belton St. The suspects approached the vehicle on foot and announced a robbery. As victim # 1 attempted to flee the location, suspect fired shots into the vehicle striking the victims. Suspects fled the location on foot in an unknown direction. Victim # 1 was able to drive to the 6000 block of Brace where he called 911.

Victim # 1 (driver) – Black male, 19, was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Victim # 2 – Black male (front seat passenger) 17, was fatally shot.

Suspect # 1 – Black male, 19-24, 5’10”, 150 lbs., slim build, dark brown eyes,medium complexion, dark lips, clean shaven, last seen wearing a black hooded zip-up sweater, armed.

Suspect # 2 – Hispanic male, 19-24, 6’0”, slim build, dark brown eyes, light complexion, curly brown hair, last seen wearing a red bubble coat and a black hooded sweater.
