LINCOLN PARK, MI – Troopers were in Lincoln Park on a drug bust when they stopped a vehicle at about 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Capitol.
Troopers from Metro South conducted a traffic stop on a possible narcotics suspect. One of the troopers started to feel lightheaded, nauseous and unsteady on his feet after searching a suspect.
His partner noticed his behavior and started first aid.
He recognized that this was a possible fentanyl or cocaine overdose. He administered two doses of Narcan from the kit in his patrol car. The trooper was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he is going to be fine.
Troopers and members of the Downriver Area Narcotics Organization (DRANO) then executed a search warrant on the suspects residence in the same 800 block of Capitol in Lincoln Park. Officers recovered narcotics and two firearms. The suspect was arrested on those offenses and some outstanding warrants.
