CASEVILLE, MI – Yesterday afternoon, Monday March 25th, 2019, at 3:17PM, the Huron County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 8983 Pt. Charity Dr. in Caseville Twp., where a man had accidentally caught himself on fire while burning leaves in an easement near that address.
35-year-old Allen B. Fisher was apparently stomping out some of the burning leaves when his Carhart bibs caught on fire. His father and a neighbor extinguished the clothing fire and got the burnt clothing off of him as two Deputies who were in the area responded.
Deputy Alex Jobes who is an EMT and knew the severity of the burns, coordinated with dispatch and Scheurer Hospital to get an out of county EMS helicopter enroute to the hospital in Pigeon. Deputy Jobes also began treating Allen Fisher while Elkton EMS was enroute to the scene, as the other responding Deputy Ryan Swartz contained the fire.
Allen Fisher was transported from the scene and then eventually flown to an out of county hospital for treatment of burns from his waist down.
