Monroe County Rollover Accident Kills 21 yr old Milan Man

MILAN TOWNSHIP, MI – A fatal traffic crash occurred at approximately 11:53PM on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, on Ostrander Road, east of Ann Arbor Road, in Monroe County, that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Adam W. Mollette, 21-years-old, of Milan, was driving a black 2006 GMC pick-up truck eastbound on Ostrander Road. He lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway to the south, entering into a ditch along the south edge of Ostrander Road. The pick-up truck overturned, partially ejecting the driver. The vehicle came to rest in the overturned position with a portion of the vehicle on top of him.

Adam Mollette was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.

Mr. Mollette was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Monroe Community Ambulance, the Michigan State Police and the Milan Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Deputies Nick Burkhart and Brian Francisco of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Bureau along with Deputy Kelsea Reed of the Uniform Services Division. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call 734-240-7557.

This world lost an amazing young man on April 11, 2019! He lived his life the way he wanted and enjoyed every minute, from working on cars, fishing, spending time with his family and friends. Always smiling, telling crazy jokes and no matter what, he had a big ol hug and kiss for you.

Survivors include his parents, Jay (Christina) Mollette, Candace Byrnes; siblings Anthony (Lindsay) Mollette, Ashly Byrnes (Damien Ettner) Kaylee Ramos, Taylor Byrnes, Samantha Byrnes; special niece and nephew Abigail and Gavin Mollette; parental grandparents Jack (Patricia) Mollette and a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents James (Nancy) Byrnes.

Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm The funeral service will be held at Milan Free Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am. Contributions may be made to the family. Burial will follow at London Township Cemetery.
