FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – A mother and her son will be arraigned this afternoon for the murder of her husband and the son’s step-father in 2016.
Beatrice Flint-Tennyson, 68-years-old, of Farmington Hills, and her son Delbert Flint , 46-years-old, of St. Joseph, Missouri, are now facing charges in connection with the 2016 murder of Ms. Flint-Tennyson’s husband and Mr. Flint’s step-father Darvin Tennyson, 60-years-old, of Farmington Hills.
On March 19, 2016, Mr. Tennyson went to work and returned home in Farmington Hills never to be seen again. On March 30, 2016 at 5:15 a.m. Detroit firefighters and police officers responded to Victoria Street and St. Aubin because a citizen reported hearing a loud explosion and looking outside and seeing a car on fire. Firefighters discovered an unidentified male in the trunk of a car while extinguishing the fire. The victim, later identified as Mr. Tennyson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Extensive investigation by the Detroit police and fire officials led to the identification and arrest of Defendants Flint-Tennyson and Flint. The facts and evidence in the case will be presented on the record in court at the Preliminary Examination.
Beatrice Flint-Tennyson and Delbert Flint have each been charged with Open Murder, Tampering with Evidence and Dead Bodies- Disinterment and Mutilation.
Defendant Flint-Tennyson was arraigned on April 21, 2019, and remanded to jail. She is scheduled for a Probable Cause Hearing on May1, 2019 and a Preliminary Examination on May 8, 2019, both before Judge Cylenthia Miller. Defendant Delbert Flint was taken into custody yesterday is expected to be arraigned today in 36th District Court.
