PONTIAC, MI – At 9:45AM on Wednesday April 24th, 2019, an Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to Pontiac High School, located in the 1000 block of Arlene Ave., was notified by school staff that a female student had advised them that she was sexually assaulted by a male student.
The sexual assault occurred earlier in the morning on school grounds. The suspect was being detained by school security. The victim was with school staff in the Teen resource Room. The 14-year-old girl advised the Deputy that she and the 15-year-old suspect were in a secluded area of the school when the assault occurred.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to the school to speak with the young girl and her mother who had been notified and was in route to the school.
After the interview, the victim was transported to the Haven’s START Program for a forensic examination.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the substation to be interviewed by Detectives. The suspect’s mother was notified and responded to the substation. Detectives interviewed the suspect in the presence of his mother. After the interview, a Deputy transported the suspect to the Oakland County Children’s Village where he was lodged pending the issuance of criminal charges.
