COLUMBIAVILLE, MI – On Sunday April 21st, 2019, at 12:37AM, Lapeer County 911 dispatched Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies to a reported sexual assault involving a minor child at a residence in Columbiaville.
Investigators established that Frank Green, 54-years-old, moved into a relatives home in August of 2018. Prior to moving into the relatives home, Green had resided in the Georgia for 12 years.
Frank Green was watching the child for the parents while they were temporarily away. The parents attempted to contact the minor child via phone and became concerned. This concern resulted in the parents contacting a third party individual to visit the residence and check the welfare of their child. This individual upon entering the residence suspected sexual abuse was transpiring. The suspicions were immediately reported to law enforcement.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Sergeant Robert Wells arrested Frank Green on Monday April 22nd. Green was lodged at the Lapeer County Jail on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct.
The investigation is exploring that this was not an isolated incident and there may be additional victims. Green resided and visited numerous other states beside Michigan.
On Wednesday April 24th, Lapeer County Assistant Prosecutor Robert Hinojosa authorized the following formal criminal charges.
1. Two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree
2. One count of Children Accosting for immoral purposes
Frank Green was arraigned by 71-A District Court Magistrate Mike Delling during the afternoon hours of Wednesday 04-24-2019. Bond was set at $25,000. Green remains incarcerated at the Lapeer County Jail after arraignment.
The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office reminds parents to be vigilant regarding who is supervising and associating with their children even if it is relative or friend. Protecting children from sexual predators is a top priority.
