Greektown Shooting Suspect Delano Ward in Custody

DETROIT, MI  – Through great investigative work by members of the Detroit Police Department and Delano Wardassistance from the community, Greektown shooting suspect Delano Ward of Farmington Hills, was taken into custody on Wednesday May 8th, 2019, in the city of Oak Park.

“We will find you and we will arrest you,” Chief James Craig.

On Sunday, May 5th, 2019, at approximately 11:55 p.m., four male suspects (non-Detroit residents) were walking eastbound on Monroe when one of the suspects produced a weapon and fired multiple shots into the direction of a crowd.

As a result, three victims (23, 24, 32 year old males) were injured. After the shooting, the suspects fled the location. All three victims received treatment at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries and were listed in temporary serious or stable condition.

In Less than 24 hours, members from the Detroit Police Department located and arrested one of the four male suspects at his home in the city of Livonia. A photo of the second suspect, Delano Ward, 26 of Farmington Hills was released to the community for assistance in locating him. Today at approximately 3p.m., through great investigative work and assistance from the community, members from the Detroit Police Department located and arrested Delano Ward in the city of Oak Park.
