After contact was made with the driver, the passenger became extremely nervous. The trooper asked the passenger for his ID.
The passenger gave a credit card, which turned out not to be his and another false name. The passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle and in the process he attempted to grab a pistol from his waistband area. The trooper took hold of the passenger disabling him and then secured the pistol.
The passenger was lodged for several outstanding warrants, multiple gun felonies as the weapon was registered to a 3rd party and fraudulent activity.
