LANSING, MI – On May 10th, 2019, at 2:40AM, The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an unwanted subject call in the 5300 block of Mall Dr West.
The female caller advised that the suspect had been knocking on her door wanting to see her. He began texting her. Some of those texts were concerning due to stating “he loved her so he spared her, and she would know what that meant soon”. Suspect also texted he “had been ridding the demons of some dear friends of his”
Within an hour, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle on I-69 near Otto Rd and made a traffic stop. The suspect was arrested on some outstanding warrants. During the stop the suspect told the deputies that he needed to show them some images on his phone. The suspect proceeded to show the deputies images of what appeared to be two deceased women.
Further investigation lead both the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Delhi Division and Meridian Township Police to do welfare checks at the homes of both women. Ingham County responded to the 4400 block of Doncaster in Holt and found a 26 year old white female dead of multiple blunt force trauma.
Meridian Township responded to the 2700 block of E. Grand River and found a 32 white female, who was a resident of Williamston, dead of multiple blunt force trauma. Next of kin is still being contacted for both victims, their names will be released once notifications are complete.
The Michigan State Police Crime Lab is on location of both scenes to process.
The suspect is a 26-year-old man from Delta Township. The case is ongoing and charges will be sought against the suspect in the very near future. His name will be released pending arraignment.
There is no doubt the suspect was on a killing spree. We have since learned the quick actions of the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office saved many more lives. The investigation has identified 2 additional potential victims (not including the original caller) that the suspect had planned to kill. They have all been contacted and are all safe.
The suspect is currently lodged at the Eaton County Jail.
