ORION TOWNSHIP, MI – In a strange but desperate move, two wanted felons attempted suicide because they did not want to go back to jail.
On May 16th, 2019, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies received information that two subjects with felony warrants were staying at a residence in the 10 block of Canary Hill Drive.
Deputies surrounded the residence and were permitted entry by another resident. Both subjects were located hiding inside a back bedroom. Deputies took them both into custody.
The two suspects, a 32-year-old man, of Pontiac and a 29-year-old woman, of Sterling Heights, advised Deputies that they both had just ingested heroin and Xanax and that they wanted to die.
Deputies requested the Orion Township Fire Department and Paramedics from Star EMS to respond to the scene. One of the suspects became unconscious and began having convulsions. Deputies administered two doses of Narcan (Naloxone) but with little or no effect. Paramedics from the Orion Township Fire Department administered a third dose of Narcan to the subject. The subject became conscious and alert. Both suspects were transported to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where they were treated and cleared for incarceration. Both suspects were subsequently lodged at the Oakland County Jail on Felony Parole Absconder Warrants.
