MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – On Wednesday May 29th, 2019, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a Stranger Danger incident.
A 12 year old girl reported that as she was walking to her bus stop this morning, she was approached by a vehicle in which the male driver told her to “Get in the car”. This occurred at approximately 7:05am in the area of Camelot Blvd. and Bolingbrook St.
The girl asked what the password was to which the man said he didn’t know. The girl and her mother have a password they use if her mother were to ever have someone pick her up from any location. The young girl began to run away and the vehicle stayed stationary for several seconds before it also left the area. The child continued to the bus and told her school resource officer upon arriving to school. She was uninjured and no physical contact was made by the driver.
Another student witnessed this incident and confirmed what the young girl stated.
The vehicle is described as a newer black Chevy 4 door sedan with heavily tinted windows. The driver is described as a white male in his early 20’s with dark hair.
Chippewa Valley School District is aware of this incident and will be sending out an alert to parents which will include talking points for parents regarding stranger danger.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this incident and will provide more information once it is available.
