Lansing Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

LANSING, MI – An investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Lansing Computer Crimes Unit (CCU), has resulted in the arrest of a Lansing man. George Burns, 33-years-old, is charged with child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime.George Burns

The investigation stemmed from a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) cyber tip. Further investigation led to locating George Burns at a shelter in Lansing. A search resulted in investigators seizing multiple internet capable devices.

Burns has been in custody, on unrelated charges, since October of 2018. Since being incarcerated, he has been charged in Clinton County with four counts of child sexually abusive activity and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Burns was arraigned on those charges yesterday, June 5, and issued a cash or surety bond of $150,000.

If convicted, George Burns faces up to 20 years in prison for child sexually abusive activity and four to 20 years in prison for the counts of using of a computer to commit a crime.
