DETROIT, MI – From a warm weekend night in Detroit is the aftermath of multiple shootings that took place from Saturday evening into early Sunday morning around the city.
At 2:15AM on June 9th, 2019, Detroit Police and medics raced to a shooting scene near Legends Gentlemen’s Club on Congress Street in downtown Detroit. Officers called for multiple medics to be sent to the scene once they arrived and saw that there were potentially multiple victims.
One gunshot victim was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital in a White Dodge Ram. Another vehicle, a black pickup truck, sped away from the scene with another shooting victim inside.
The third victim was not so fortunate. He was found dead at the scene. The 48-year-old man’s name is Bernard Howard.
Reportedly, Bernard Howard had fired his weapon outside of the strip club where he shot a man in the leg. That man also had a weapon and returned gunfire hitting Howard at least 6 times.
A female victim was also shot and is listed in temporary serious condition. Another victim caught up in being hit by flying bullets, a man, is listed in temporary serious condition.
No arrests have been made in this incident.
