LAPEER, MI – On the afternoon of Wednesday June 12th, 2019, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Chapman’s Sports Center on Davison Road in Lapeer regarding 8 Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) that were discovered stolen from the business.
The fence surrounding the property was cut behind the back of the business to gain entry into the yard. Three subjects were captured by surveillance video of the business between the hours of 1:00AM and 5:30AM.
The UTVs were parked outside the building. The stolen UTVs were started without their keys and driven from the business. The stolen UTVs were loaded on a trailer that was located west of the business along Davison Road.
Stolen were the following:
1) 2017 Youth 50 Outlaw
2) 2017 Youth 50 Outlaw
3) 2012 Polaris RZR 800
4) 2013 Sportsman 550 Touring
5) 2018 Polaris RZR XP 1000
6) 2019 Polaris RZR 900 50” Black
7) 2019 Polaris RZR 900 50” Red
8) 2019 Polaris 1000 S4 Black/Red
Investigators have been in contact with the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office in Sandusky, Michigan. Around May 21st of 2019, Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office investigated a similar theft that occurred at Ball Equipment on Sandusky Road in Sandusky. There are strong similarities between Ball Equipment in Sandusky and Chapman Sports Center in Lapeer.
