Jury Convicts Flint Man of Shooting and Killing Friend

FLINT, MI – A jury returned a guilty verdict this afternoon against a Flint man who had been charged with shooting and killing his friend.Guilty Gavel

Ray Livingston Lee, 55-years-old, was convicted of manslaughter, two counts of felony firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm related to the July 17, 2017 incident.

According to testimony at trial, the victim, Alton Ray Pernell, 54-years-old, and his girlfriend went to Lee’s house on W. Lorado in Flint and asked Lee if he still wanted to fight. Pernell began to punch Lee and Lee pulled a handgun and shot and killed Pernell at close range.

Ray Lee will be sentenced on July 22nd.
