BRANDON TOWNSHIP, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to S. Baldwin and Seymore Lake for a suspicious person.
The complainant stated a vehicle had driven onto her property and went to the rear of the yard. The driver had exited the vehicle and was displaying unusual behavior. The suspect was dancing, hitting himself in the face and yelling at himself.
Deputies pulled into the driveway of the residence. The suspect, a 30-year-old from Madison Heights, was still in the rear of the yard. Deputies gave the male suspect loud verbal commands to sit on his vehicle and not move. The suspect went in and out of his vehicle disregarding Deputies commands. The suspect then entered his vehicle and drove at Deputies, intentionally striking a patrol vehicle in the driveway that was trying to block the car’s exit. The suspect exited the vehicle from the passenger side and attempted to flee. A Deputy fired his taser at the suspect, which was not effective. The Deputy deployed his taser a second time, obtaining neuro muscular interruption and the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect’s vehicle was searched, prior to being impounded, and suspected crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia was located.
The suspect was taken to McLaren Regional Medical Center for a blood draw and hospital clearance prior to being lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
The damaged patrol vehicle was towed to Central Garage by Central Garage.
