ONONDAGA, MI – Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Baldwin Park in Onondaga at approximately 7:30 pm Tuesday evening for the report of a body in the river.
Kayakers located the body south of the park and called 911.
The Capital Area Dive Team responded and recovered the body. The age, sex, race and cause of death was not readily determined at the time of the recovery.
The Medical Examiners Office will perform an autopsy and assist the Sheriff’s Office with identification.
The body recovered from the river is that of a female.
The Sheriff’s Office is working with Mid-Michigan agencies who have missing persons and continues to work with the Medical Examiners Office on identifying her.
A visual Identification is not possible making the process more difficult.
Onondaga is located south of Lansing.
