Man Charged in 2018 Drug Fueled Multi-Vehicle Crash

BAY CITY, MI – A 31-year-old man is now facing a second degree murder charge among others where he allegedly caused a drug fueled fatal multi-vehicle crash in late 2018.Brian M. Wemigwans

At approximately 7:50 PM on December 19, 2018 the Michigan State Police (MSP) Mt. Pleasant Post was dispatched to the intersection of Crossway Ln., and Broadway Rd.,which is located within the boundaries of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation, for a multi-vehicle personal injury crash.

Upon arrival troopers found Jordon Wilson critically injured as a passenger in the vehicle being operated by Brian Wemigwans. MSP Forensic Lab reports show Wemigwans was found to be under the influence of several different drugs at the time of the crash. Several other vehicles were involved in the crash because of the actions of the vehicle operated by Wemigwans which led to several other individuals suffering major injuries. Within a short time, Jordon Wilson was pronounced deceased as a direct result of his injuries.

Brian Wemigwans, 31-years-old, was arrested and appeared before a Federal Magistrate on July 1st, 2019, on an indictment for 2nd degree murder, Operating Under The Influence With a High BAC Causing Incapacitating Injury, and Operating Under The Influence With a High BAC Causing Incapacitating Injury With a Prior Conviction.

The Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post was assisted by the MSP Aviation Section, the MSP Crash Reconstruction Team, The Isabella County Sheriff’s Dept., the Mt. Pleasant Police Dept., and The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Dept.
