Around 6:58 AM, close to 5 hours into the search, Michigan State Police Aviation Division (Trooper 3 helicopter) detected a heat source beneath a tree within a heavy ground vegetation area on Johnson Mill Road near Fish Lake Road. The woman was located and determined to require medical attention for suspected medical and potential injury.
Deputies determined that the her injuries were created during her foot travels through the rural area and not an assault. Her claims of being chased were determined unfounded during the investigation.
