Juvenile Charged in Fatal Stabbing Death at Taylor Knights of Columbus Hall


DETROIT, MI – Giancarlo Delgato,16-years-old, of Southgate, has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Cameron Petty, 17-years-old, of Detroit, at the Taylor Knights of Columbus Hall.fatal stabbing

An adult designation means that upon conviction the judge has the option of sentencing the defendant as a juvenile, or as  an adult, or blending a juvenile and an adult sentence.

On the evening of July 6, 2019, a graduation party was held at a Knights of Columbus Hall located in the 24900 block of Brest in Taylor. At approximately 10:54 p.m. on the same night a large fight broke out. It is alleged that a Delgato stabbed two young men and fatally stabbed Mr. Petty. Mr. Petty was pronounced deceased at a local  hospital. The two other victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for their wounds.

Delgato has been charged and adult designated on the following charges: Second Degree Murder; and two counts of  Assault with Intent to Murder.  He is expected to be arraigned at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility located at 1326 St. Antoine in Detroit at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 before Referee Sean Kurman.
