DETROIT, MI – Deangelo Martin is named as a person of interest in two homicide warrant requests that were recently received by the Wayne County Prosecutors Office from the Detroit Police Department.
No decision is expected this week and no further information will be distributed because the Detroit Police Department investigation related to Martin as a person of interest is ongoing.
Deangelo Martin, 34-ears-old, of Detroit, has already been charged in connection with a sexual assault of a 26-year-old Detroit woman. On May 7, 2019, at 1:40 a.m. at a house on the eastside of Detroit it is alleged that Martin stabbed and sexually assaulted the victim.
Martin was charged with one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, and four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree. Today in 36th District Court Martin had his preliminary examination and was bound over as charged. His arraignment in Third Circuit Court is scheduled for July 23, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
