CHARLEVOIX, MI – On Tuesday July 16th, 2019, at approximately 4:15pm, Deputies from the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Old 31 N in Hayes Township for a reported missing two-year-old boy.
Deputies were advised that the child had left a camper trailer on the property and parents were unable to locate him. After a two-hour extensive search of the area, the child was found safe and returned to his parents. The child was wearing only a diaper and was able to walk approximately 1?2 mile in a field that the growth of vegetation was taller than he is before being found.
Charlevoix County Deputies were assisted by Charlevoix Fire Department, Charlevoix EMS, Boyne City Police Department, Charlevoix Police Department, East Jordan Police Department, several citizens in the area, and Michigan State Police.
