ROSEVILLE, MI – On Wednesday July 17th, 2019, two vehicles collided near 12 Mile Road and Maple causing one driver to be entrapped inside of their vehicle.
It is currently unconfirmed but the accident may have been caused by a drunk driver.
At about 9:45PM, the driver of a white sedan, who is believed to have been drunk while driving, needed to be removed for their vehicle after they struck a smaller orange in color crossover vehicle with a mother and at least two children who were inside of that vehicle.
Information from the police scanner is that two children were injured and needed to be transported to the hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
It took longer for the driver of the white sedan to be treated due to the fact that the victim needed to be extricated from the wreckage. He was alert and talking with paramedics after being removed from his vehicle and then transported to the hospital for treatment. Prior to being transported to the hospital, it is believed that he was in critical condition. It is possible that his injuries were life threatening.
Further information from those who were near or at the scene at the time of the accident stated that the woman driving the crossover vehicle may not have had her headlights on. The man in the white vehicle went to make a turn and did not immediately see the vehicle with its lights off. When he did see the impending accident, that driver slammed on his brakes, locking up his tires, trying to avoid the impact. A person who was at the scene at the time of the accident heard the screeching of tires when they locked up. By the time he heard the sound, the impact had occurred. He ran to the white vehicle to find the driver calling someone on his cellphone but he was severely injured.
No further information is available at this time. Please check back for updates.
